Biography

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Scripps Institution of Oceanography working with Prof. William Young. We are working on the emission of internal waves by surface wave groups. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder under the supervision of Prof. Baylor Fox-Kemper. We worked on the restratification and mixing processes in the ocean surface boundary layer.

My research focus is on ocean dynamics and turbulence. I use geophysical fluid dynamics theory and numerical simulations to solve for oceanic flows in idealized settings. Recently, in colloaboration with Prof. Jennifer MacKinnon, I have been combining theory, modeling, and observations to analyze observations of strong, salt stratified fronts from the Bay of Bengal.
